Internal Logistics Supervisor

The role will lead the material handling team to ensure the efficient supply of raw materials, transformers and equipment to our internal manufacturing operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily logistics and transportation activities.
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Track deliveries and resolve delivery-related issues.
  • To lead the Materials Handling team to achieve all targets regarding efficiency, quality, safety and cost.
  • Work with the planning and logistic team to develop internal logistics solutions (goods in, kitting, issuing, delivering to line) thus ensuring manufacturing bays experience zero shortages.
  • Ensuring ERP system fully reflects all transformer movements and locations.
  • Liaise with logistics to manage the safe delivery and availability of transformers through effective planning.
  • Monitor Overall Operative Effectiveness, Efficiency and Performance with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • To work within an ethos of continuous improvement to develop a right first-time culture and promote a safe working environment.
  • To support, mentor and lead the Material Controllers.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

  • Previous experience in logistics, warehouse operations, or supply chain activities.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel) and logistics management systems.
  • High level of IT and data management competency, ERP/PM tools
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of organisational and planning skill
  • Ability to deliver efficient solutions, with a strong customer focus.
  • Sound leadership qualities to motivate, support and manage staff within a fast moving, projects driven manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to build and develop effective teams.
  • Detailed understanding of internal logistics solutions and continuous improvement.
