80 years of engineering heritage
Founded in the UK in 1946 by Richard Wilson, the family business has evolved over three generations into an international transformer manufacturer. After entering the transformer market in 1985, the company established Power & Distribution Transformers Ltd in 1994 and opened its first Indian manufacturing plant in Chennai in 2006. The business adopted the Wilson Power Solutions name in 2011.
In 2021, Erika Wilson became the company’s sole owner and Managing Director, continuing the family’s commitment to independent ownership and long-term investment. The company decided to build the second Chennai facility in 2023, with construction beginning in 2024 and initial production testing completed in 2025.
