Awards

We are extremely proud to announce that Wilson Power Solutions has once again been recognised as one of the UK’s fastest-growing private businesses, earning a place in The Sunday Times 100 Britain's Fastest-Growing Private Companies for the second time after our recognition in 2024.

The Sunday Times 100 has unveiled the 2026 edition of its annual ranking, celebrating the UK's most dynamic and successful businesses and the entrepreneurs behind them. Rankings are determined based on a three-year average annual sales growth, placing Wilson Power Solutions amongst Britain's leading innovators and growth companies.

Following our 2024 debut on the list, Wilson Power Solutions has secured the 76th position in this year's rankings, with a three-year annual sales growth rate of 66.67% and in what the organisers describe as particularly challenging trading conditions, reflecting the higher threshold required to qualify for the league table this year.

The Sunday Times 100 features businesses from a wide range of sectors across the UK economy, highlighting companies that continue to drive innovation, create employment opportunities and deliver sustainable growth despite challenging market conditions. The Sunday Times mentioned that "the majority [of businesses] are based outside of the capital". They also point out that "a record number of companies were founded, co-founded or are led by women this year, a total of 33 per cent".

The Sunday Times described Wilson Power Solutions as follows: "This third-generation manufacturer began life in 1946, when its founder, Richard Wilson, started selling flameproof equipment, pumps and motors. Now it is led by his granddaughter Erika Wilson, 47, (an apprentice-turned managing director) and makes transformers — crucial components of the power grid that increase and decrease voltage. The Leeds-based company recorded sales of £113.6 million last year and has expanded overseas, with a factory in Chennai, India, and a power-hire venture in Dubai."
