Arla aims to reduce CO₂ emissions by 30% by 2030 and achieve Net Zero by 2050. The company encourages grass-fed dairy, biodiversity, and more sustainable farming methods. It is increasing the use of biogas, solar, and wind power in farms and production sites with plans to utilise other decarbonisation avenues, like battery energy storage and electric vehicles.

As one of the largest dairy producers in the world, Arla requires a significant amount of energy for dairy production, processing, transportation, and packaging. The company has been actively working to reduce energy consumption.
