Associated British Ports (ABP) is the largest port operator in the UK, managing 21 ports across England, Scotland, and Wales. It plays a crucial role in the UK’s trade and economy, handling over 25% of the nation’s seaborne trade and moving approximately 89 million tonnes of cargo annually. ABP has heavily invested in modernising port infrastructure and sustainability with a £2 billion investment in port facilities over the past decade, spent on shore power facilities, offshore wind hubs, the Expansion of container and bulk handling capacities and the electrification of port equipment to improve efficiency and sustainability.

Scope of Work	Six 11-6.6kV/433V Wilson T2 Ecotrans® Distribution Transformers (800kVA, 1000kVA and 1250kVA)

Over the years, we have been grateful to work with the ABP and industry-leading HV contractors on multiple HV network upgrade projects to enable new connections for expansion projects and replace ageing transformer assets.

ABP's asset replacement programme reflects its ethos of continuously investing in its infrastructure while providing the best value for money for its customers and reducing carbon emissions. One of many, this project saw the delivery of six 11-6.6kV/433V Wilson T2 Ecotrans® Distribution Transformers at several substations supporting ABP. All transformers are Ecodesign Tier 2 compliant and help the ports make energy, carbon and financial savings by removing old energy-guzzling transformers and installing efficient ones.
