Delivered by Galliford Try as Principal Contractor, the development involved major mechanical and electrical upgrades, including reinforced power systems to ensure reliable performance in a sensitive coastal setting. To boost flow capacity and resilience, the project received new high-voltage infrastructure, with Wilson Power Solutions supplying two 1250kVA 11kV/433V Wilson T2 Ecotrans® Distribution Transformers (CRGO core) with CN2.
Each transformer was fitted with advanced monitoring and protection devices, fully integrated into site controls, and finished in a C5H Admiralty Grey coating for long-term corrosion resistance. Together, these upgrades secure dependable operation during peak demand and severe weather, supporting South West Water’s commitments under the Environment Agency’s Emergency Overflow Policy.
The Exmouth Outfall Project enhances the wastewater network for Exmouth and surrounding communities, safeguarding bathing waters and advancing long-term environmental goals through robust, future-ready infrastructure.
