Jersey Water

Jersey Water, the primary water supplier to the island of Jersey, has a rich history dating back to its founding in 1863 as the Jersey Waterworks Company Limited. Water was first supplied in 1869 from a well at Vicart in St. Lawrence, and the company has been a cornerstone of Jersey’s infrastructure for over 150 years. In November 2004, the company rebranded to ‘Jersey Water,’ underscoring its commitment to modernity and excellence in serving the island community.

500kVA Wilson e3 Ultra-Low Loss Amorphous® Transformer for Jersey Water

In a recent project to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability, Jersey Water partnered with Wilson Power Solutions to supply a 500kVA 11kV/415V Wilson e3 Ultra-Low Loss Amorphous® Transformer. The transformer was selected to meet the stringent energy, environmental, and climatic requirements for the island’s water supply operations.

Delivered to the St. Helier docks, the transformer was finished with a Dark Admiralty Grey paint system conforming to ISO 12944 standards, ensuring durability and resilience in marine environments. This robust finish was particularly vital given Jersey’s coastal setting, where equipment must withstand the challenges of salt-laden air and high humidity.
