Meridian Water Energy Centre

We are proud to have our transformer as part of the Meridian Water Energy Centre project at the Edmonton EcoPark in Enfield. Vital Energi, our customer, was tasked with the design, build, operation, and maintenance of the Meridian Water Heat Network (MWHN), which consists of an energy centre and underground pipework. We supplied the project with a bespoke 1600kVA 11-3.3kV/405V KNAN Wilson T2 Ecotrans® Distribution Transformer.

Once fully completed, due in 2026, low-carbon heat from the North London Waste Authority (NLWA) will be used on-site and distributed to nearby consumers. This project is expected to effectively reduce the carbon footprint of heat and hot water by 90% for the 82-hectare mixed-use site, including 10,000 new homes, a new train station, workspaces, and open public spaces.
