Molins Data Centre

Molins data centre campus is set to become a premier facility. It will feature four data centre buildings for hyperscale players, with a total IT load of 75MW upon full build-out. Spanning 50 acres, the site has secured planning approval, and the facility is expected to be ready for service in Q2 2026.

The data centre campus has a National Grid contract for 120MVA, and our transformer plays a pivotal role in supporting this high-capacity requirement. As part of this large-scale infrastructure project, we supplied a 120MVA 132kV/20kV-20kV ONAN/ONAF Wilson Power Transformer, a critical component in ensuring reliable power distribution for the data centre. We provided the site with a few auxiliary and earthing transformers to operate ancillary site services and offer protection.

Our site team expertly carried out the installation, including the precise positioning of the tank, radiators, and conservator using a crane. Additionally, we managed the connection of pre-fabricated pipework between the radiators and tank and conducted pre-commissioning activities to ensure optimal functionality. The installation was successfully completed in collaboration with the contractor responsible for this project.
