Moto Motorway Services

Moto Hospitality, established in 2001, is the United Kingdom's largest operator of motorway service areas, managing 59 sites across the country. Moto's service areas host a variety of well-known retail and food outlets, including Marks & Spencer Simply Food, WHSmith, Burger King, Costa Coffee, Greggs, and KFC. In recent years, Moto has focused on modernising its facilities and expanding its services. Moto has invested in refurbishing several sites and upgrading amenities such as toilet and shower facilities, customer seating areas, and food outlets.

Moto is also committed to sustainability and supporting the transition to electric vehicles. The company has partnered with GRIDSERVE to upgrade and expand its network of electric vehicle charging points, aiming to facilitate greener travel across the UK. Electric Super Hubs started appearing at different Moto sites. This initiative reflects Moto and GRIDSERVE's shared dedication to promoting the UK's transition to electric vehicles by providing accessible, high-speed charging solutions powered by renewable energy sources.

Motorway services need extra high-voltage capacities and connections to facilitate the new charging loads. We supplied three sites with Wilson d2 (iDNO) Unit Type® Distribution Transformers packaged with MV switchgear and LV cabinets.
