This temporary works installation is designed to enable drought prevention over-pumping from the River Lyd to the nearby Roadford Reservoir. Last in operation during the mid-1990s, before new works commenced, the existing electrical equipment had remained shut down and deemed life-expired beyond the state of possible refurbishment.
The scope of work required re-establishing the HV supply. National Grid provided a new 1250kVA supply to their existing substation on site, including new HV cabling from their primary substation. Through our partners at Enerveo, we supplied a Wilson T2 Ecotrans® Transformer to this site. The transformer was provided as a hermetically sealed, KNAN Midel-filled, fitted with ancillaries such as WTI, OTI, PRD, and a CN2 Circuit breaker to support this application.
