Alfreton Sewage Treatment Works (STW) offers tankered waste disposal services, collaborating with wastewater collection providers to manage domestic, commercial, and trade wastewater safely and cost-effectively. Combined Heat and Power (CHP) systems are commonly implemented in sewage treatment facilities to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability. These systems utilise biogas produced during the anaerobic digestion of sewage sludge to generate electricity and heat, which can be used on-site or exported to the grid.
CHP, also known as cogeneration, is a versatile technology that helps ease the transition as the UK moves towards a decarbonised energy supply. In collaboration with Central Power Ltd, we supplied this site with a 1000kVA Wilson T2 Ecotrans® Distribution Transformer and an LV cabinet.
