University of Dundee

Founded in 1881 as a college of the University of St Andrews before gaining independent university status in 1967, the University of Dundee is located in the heart of Dundee. It has modern facilities and a vibrant student community.

The University of Dundee published a carbon management plan in 2010 outlining ambitions to reduce carbon emissions by 4% year on year compared to the baseline measure of 2015. Since then, the university became a signatory to the Net Zero Challenge for Universities and Colleges (NZC) after the Scottish Government mandated decarbonisation targets for organisations to achieve. The University of Dundee aims to reach Net Zero by 2045 and cut GHG emissions down to a 75% reduction by 2035.

The University of Dundee is a research-intensive university. One of its most notable facilities is the School of Medicine at Ninewells Hospital, which has state-of-the-art simulation labs and teaching facilities to enhance student learning. The university realises that one of the key issues is the growing equipment and facility needs whilst trying to reduce energy consumption.

We supplied the university with 1000kVA Wilson e1 Ecotrans® and 500kVA Wilson e2 Super Low Loss Amorphous® Transformers to enable power supply for their facilities.
